Research:
phraséologie, grammaire, sémantique

Mes recherches portent sur des problématiques relevant de trois domaines essentiels : l'approche linguistique des discours spécialisés, l'analyse de discours, en particulier les discours officiels et médiatiques, et la linguistique de l'allemand abordée dans une perspective cognitive : grammaires de constructions, interface syntaxe-sémantique, métaphores conceptuelles, frame semantics.

Research:
Construction Grammar, Cognitive Semantics, Corpus Linguistics

My research is primarily focused on developing methodology. I am especially interested in how we can capture the interaction of the different elements of linguistic structure. For example, how grammatical semantics interact with lexical seamantics, metaphor, and metonymy and then in turn how these phenomena interact with pragmatics. The same question can be asked of morphological, syntactic, and lexical semantics. How do these structures interact? These are old questions in linguistics, but approaching them using corpus-driven methods is a relatively new project. The advantage of corpus driven methodology is that we may treat the data quantitatively. This allows us to test our hypotheses but also, using multivariate statistics, make generalizations about how these different linguistic structures interact in way that is impossible using one's intuition.
