Research: Specialist of African languages, she received the bronze medal of the CNRS in 1994 for her work on Wolof and her pioneer book Approche énonciative du système verbal du wolof (1991). While continuing her research in African linguistics recently developed in a new collective project on endangered languages of Senegal (Sénélangues) granted by the French National Agency for Research, she also worked in general linguistics, in particular on the semantics of grammar, on polysemy, grammaticalization (Perspectives synchroniques sur la grammaticalisation 2003), typology (Language Diversity and Cognitive Representations, 1999) as well as cognitive linguistics or cognitive sciences (Space in languages : linguistic systems and cognitive categories 2006), developping collaborations with psycholinguists and specialists of brain imagery. |
